Connect Google Ads and see your campaigns
Connect your Google Ads account to see what you spend, the clicks you get and what each lead costs, right in Utopia.
Connect the Google login that runs your ads, and Utopia shows your ad spend, clicks and what each lead cost you, next to the leads the rest of your marketing brings in. Utopia only reads your ads. It never changes a campaign or spends money.
Before you start
- Only owners and admins can connect Google Ads. Everyone else sees "Ask an owner to connect Google Ads."
- Google Ads is in Early access while Google reviews Utopia, so only businesses we've added can connect. Tap Ask for access first.
Steps
- Go to Marketing → Google Ads. On your phone, tap More, then Google Ads under Marketing.
- Tap Connect Google Ads.
- On Google's page, sign in with the Google login that runs your ads, and allow access.
- If that login can reach more than one ads account, tap Use this account next to the one for this business.
Are my ads working?
Pick a time period at the top. One plain sentence sums it up, like what you spent and how many leads you got. Then look at these numbers:
- Spend: what your ads cost.
- Clicks: how many people tapped your ads. Times your ad was shown counts everyone who saw them.
- Leads Google counted: the calls, form fills or bookings Google counted from your ads.
- What each lead cost you: what you spent divided by the leads Google counted.
If each lead costs much less than you make on a job, your ads are paying off. If it says No leads counted yet, people are seeing your ads but not reaching out. The page also compares each number with the period before.
Numbers update about every hour. To change your ads, tap Open Google Ads.
Didn't work?
Google says "Access blocked" or "hasn't verified this app"
Your Google login hasn't been added yet. Tap Ask for access and tell us the Google login that runs your ads. Once added, you may still see "hasn't verified this app": choose Advanced, then continue.
It says Google hasn't approved Utopia's ads access yet
The page shows Waiting on Google. You don't need to connect again: your numbers show up once Google approves. Owners can tap Check again.
It says this Google login doesn't have any Google Ads accounts
You signed in with a different Google login than the one that runs your ads. Tap Disconnect, then Connect Google Ads and sign in with the right login.
It says Google signed this connection out
Tap Connect again and sign in with Google.
Spend shows Hidden
Money is only shown to people whose role lets them see revenue. Ask an owner to check your role. See Roles and permissions.
