Connect ManyChat (or Zapier) with a webhook

A workflow that starts with Webhook received has its own private link. When ManyChat or Zapier sends to it, the workflow runs.

Get the link

1. Go to Marketing → Workflows.
2. Tap Use template on ManyChat lead into Utopia, or tap New workflow and pick Webhook received as what starts it.
3. Tap Save. Then tap the top card.
4. Leave Add them as a lead on so the person is added to Customers. Add tags if you like, such as ManyChat.
5. Tap Copy link under Your webhook link.
6. Turn the workflow On.

Set up ManyChat

1. In ManyChat, add an "External Request" action to your flow.
2. Choose POST and paste your link.
3. In the body, send JSON with the person's details, for example first_name, last_name, phone and email. Other fields, like car_size, are kept too, and an If / else step can check them.
4. Save the flow and test it. The person shows in Customers, and the run shows in Runs.

Zapier works the same way: use a Webhooks POST step with your link.

Send to another app

Add a Send webhook step and paste a link that starts with https://. Utopia posts the workflow, the customer's name, stage and tags, and the job, quote or invoice. It never sends phone numbers or email addresses. A failed send is tried up to 4 times. The step shows a note naming the site that gets this information; you're responsible for how that site uses it.

Keep your link private. Anyone with it can start the workflow. If it leaks, tap Make a new link; the old one stops working.

Didn't work?

ManyChat says 409

The workflow is off. Turn it On.

Nobody was added to Customers

The fields need an email or a phone number, and Add them as a lead must be on.
