Set up your customer portal

Choose how your customer portal looks, what customers can do there (pay, see quotes, cancel or ask for a new time) and which updates they get, with a live preview.

Your customer portal is where customers sign in to see their visits, pay invoices, answer quotes and message you. Settings → Customer portal decides how it looks and what they can do there. Turning something off removes it from the portal and blocks it, it isn't only hidden.

Change it

  1. Go to Settings, then Customer portal.
  2. Tap Phone preview or Computer preview to see the portal as a sample customer, Sam, sees it. Switch the preview to On the way page to see the link customers get when someone is on the way. Changes show before you save, and nothing in the preview is sent.
  3. Under Look, pick a Page theme (it matches your online booking page until you pick one) and add a Welcome line. Your logo and button color come from Brand: tap Change it in Brand to change them.
  4. Under What customers can do, use the switches: Book a visit, Pay invoices online, See and answer quotes, See past visits, See their cars, Add a car and Edit their contact details.
  5. Turn on Cancel a visit or Ask for a new time if customers may change a visit, and pick how close to the visit they may do it. A new time is a request: the visit keeps its time until you move it.
  6. Under On my way, choose how customers are told when someone is on the way (portal, email, text), what they see (photo, vehicle, live map, last names), how long location sharing lasts and your team's quick replies. See Show customers who's coming.
  7. Under Other updates, turn on Done to send a thank-you when a job is completed.
  8. Tap Save changes.

Your cancellation policy is shown to customers when they cancel. Write it once in Online booking: tap Edit in Online booking.

Didn't work?

Customers still see Pay

They may have the page open from before. It updates when they reload it, and paying is refused either way.

A customer cancelled and paid a deposit

A paid deposit is refunded when the visit is cancelled, the same as when you cancel it.

The link appears once your business has a web address name in Business.
